The Original photograph

I am trying out Sandboard for the first time, its a little like sandpaper, something I found out very quickly when I tried to smudge it with my bare fingers! note, wear medical gloves or use a blender. Firstly I laid out the drawing in charcoal and then filled in the background whith coloured pastels.
Next I started to get the eye detail in as I always do, then the muzzle gradually building up each hair until the required depth was achieved.

Laying down the main colour as a base and then filling in with the different hair direction.

Finally adding the lightest tones and the snow.

And there it is, not an exact copy, but an enhanced view (Artistic licence)
